August fall bear
« on: August 22, 2013, 07:40:14 PM »
Here's one for the books. Calling with mouth calls, rabbit distress, howls and here comes a black bear 400-500 yards out. Called him into 100 yards and turned the ecaller on. He almost ran over me, dropped at 50 feet. I was awake after that!!!

It's funny. When I very first started buying mouth calls they all had warnings like, "be careful you be ER know what kind of predator may come to the call." I used to worry about that. Now I do again. Just be prepared always. Just sayin.

I read a story awhile back about a field researcher who got killed because he was wearing all black, Someone mistook him as a bear. :dunno:
I believe this is part of the story.
