Used to hunt and fish south of there years ago 30+  There used to be pig hunting out toward Battle Creek and Mineral on hwy 36.   There used to be significant BLM land between Red Bluff and Redding with hogs and I would guess they are still around. c.

BIG blacktail deer around Redding! I'd be looking into a deer hunt. Ive heard private property can be an issue. But I'd be doing the research. The biggest blacktail deer come from Northern California.

The bad thing is most area around Redding is x zone draw.  So hunting deer there you won't be doing unless you drw for it.  Lots of turkeys around there.  Good amount of quail to.  Pheasant you have to go further south.  Lots of squirels too.  Good luck.
