gene, I know this is going to sound stupid..........but sometimes it is caused by the follow thru of the hand control. Not sure why but was advised by an instructor about it.

Auto pistols like yours depend on recoil energy to fully eject fired shells. If you allow your hand to come back towards you much at all you can bleed off enough energy to keep the slide from coming back fully.
Try locking your elbow and concentrating hard on not letting the shot push your hand back. Has anyone else shot it and had the same trouble?
I've seen the same trouble with other small frame 1911's and if practice doesn't solve it you may need a lighter recoil spring.

It is generally due to poor hand control as stated above. Poor gun maintenance and cleaning can also lead to stove piping of rounds as well, not suggesting you take poor care of your gun, but this can be a cause as well.

ty for your help i got the gun from my uncle and he had it in storge for 3 years now with the post everyone sent i cleand it up going to shoot it agran and try and keep from holding it worng
