cva ultra mag
« on: September 18, 2013, 11:53:58 AM »
I have a cva ultramag sitting in my safe, is there a way to convert this to be legal in WA? I'm new to MLing and don't know much, and my searches are fruitless.

You can use the breech plug from a CVA Hunterbolt for nipples.
However, if the bolt closes around the nipple it will not be legal.
If the cap is exposed when ready to fire, it will be legal.

would that eliminate the bolt on the action to make it "exposed to the elements"?

I can't remember for sure if the bolt closes completely, I think it is exposed.

I just checked, the cap is exposed.
Using the Hunterbolt breech plug and musket cap nipples, you will have to adjust the thread depth to get everything perfect.
Just make sure you don't cover the cap.
