My daughters first deer !!
« on: October 13, 2013, 09:47:05 PM »
I am super stoked about my daughter getting her first deer and there is a little bit of a story with this one, Last year this same buck was frequenting the area and my daughter had a couple chances to shoot it and for what ever reason missed and she was bummed, Last year he had a couple short little eye guards and some small crab claws but this year he is just a clean 2 point so it appears as he was regressing a bit but anyhow she was able to connect this time with a quartering away 60yd shot with a 50 caliber Muzzleloader, made a perfect shot and he only went about 15 yards and piled up. You will notice in a couple of the photos there is a perfect 50 Caliber hole in his ear so she didn't miss entirely last year and will be able to talk about this one for years to come !! Very proud am I !!

Very cool! Congrats to the young lady! . She just wanted to pierce his ear last year that is all!  :chuckle:
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

And a great first deer it is! Some people these days pay good money to get an ear like that.

OMG, the hole in the ear is priceless.  Hope that one is going on the wall.  Great forky as well, looks like an old mature deer.

That's a great story.  A shoulder mount on that buck would be really cool as a conversation piece.  Especially with that hole in the ear.

Oh yeah that one will be going on the wall, and judging by all the gray i'm sure its an older deer, I'll get a better look at his teeth when I skin the head but I think your right Lokidog !!
