Fewer hunter's in the Methow, REALLY!
«

My neighbor in Winthrop talked to Fitkin at the red barn on Sunday and was told that the lack of harvest is because of fewer hunter's in the woods this year. REALLY because at least where my neighbors and ourselves hunt there were many more hunters than normal and we hunt different areas. Last year they checked 49 deer with 17 of them being checked on opening weekend so 32 checked on final weekend. This year they checked 30 deer opening weekend yet like the person in the article stated boulder creek area was pretty much a bust compared to last year and I can say that Sunday when we came down 37 from where it crosses boulder creek to the 5010 road we seen 2 deer hanging in at least 40 camp sites. I find it odd that he says most of the deer this year are 4 Y/O's so they should have been 3 points last year but last year’s harvest numbers don't show it and according to him there were more hunter's last year.
That is a pretty cool drop tine buck though.

That drop tine is a great buck! Congrats to the hunter! If he or she is a member here, lets hear the story!

Well that's kind of contradicting what he said in this Everett Herald article.
http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20131017/SPORTS/710179958/1004/Okanogan-deer-hunt-opens-with-a-bang
But we all know he can talk out both holes!!
