Hornady classic kit vs RCBS master kit.

I know this is like a Ford vs Chevy debate but just trying to figure out which is the better deal. The RCBS Rock chucker supreme master kit comes with the press, 505 powder scale, uniflow powder measure, Speer #14 book, hand primer tool, hex tool kit, case lube kit, universal case loading block, powder funnel, deburring tool and $50 cash rebate. The Hornandy Lock and load classic kit comes with the press, powder measure, 1500grain digital scale, 3 lock and load bushings, primer catcher, hand primer, universal reloading block, chambering and deburring tool, powder trickler, powder funnel, case lube, Hornady book (and if I buy on black Friday a Hornady Sonic cleaner for $.99) I have always been thinking the RCBS but the Hornady sonic cleaner for $.99 has me thinking differently. I know either of these will do the job but is there any pros or cons to either. Thanks Allen

I have the RCBS, but the digital scale sounds inviting in the Hornaday kit. Follow your gut, dont think you will go wrong either way. Reloading is a very rewarding hobie!!

I've used RCBS, Dillion & Harrel's presses. RCBS as my standard, Dillon for my progressive stuff and a Harrell's Magnum press for my precision stuff. I have used friends Hornady presses and I liked them, they felt solid and smooth. Can't go wrong with either, I guess your scale preference will be your deciding factor between the two your deciding between.

Don't get me wrong, the RCBS is a great press. It is well capable and has loaded many a accurate cartridge for me. I like how smooth and well built the Harrell is.

This 300 yard group was shot with cartridges loaded by a 25 year old RCBS press and your basic RCBS .338 Ultra neck sizer and seater were used for my .338 Edge.

Yes they're Hornady bullets. Just their basic soft point style.

Got a RCBS rock chucker that is about 25 years old. I guess I have probably loaded close to 50,000 rounds with it and it has never let me down.  I have a Hornady Lock n Load progressive and have loaded about 20,000 rounds and it is only 4 four years old.  Can't go wrong with either, but the free bullets is a sweet deal.

Yes....the list of bullet choices are on the promotion form you send in.  They are Hornady bullets.  Go to the Hornady site and download it.

On a different note,the reviews of the sonic cleaner I've read aren't very good.  It takes multiple cleaning cycles to get cases clean,and even after they're clean,they're not polished like a tumbler will provide.

A sonic cleaner for basically free is a no brainer though.

Most of that is due to overloading the basket.

So the only extras I would have to buy on top of the kit would be ? Obviously a set of dies for my calibers. How do you know which ones to get? Midway USA  has listed for my 7 mm a 2 die set, neck sizer 2 die set, neck sizer only, full length sizer die only, seater die, trim die, x-die full length sizer 2  die set, x- die full length sizer die only, gold medal match series 2 die, gold medal match 2 die neck sizer set,  gold medal neck sizer die only, gold medal full length sizer die only, and a gold medal seater die only. Alot of these dies are also the same for .270 win and  22-250 which are the calibers I will be reloading. What about calipers, micrometers, case trimmer, powder measure stand. Sorry if these are dumb questions just looking a catalogs and there's ALOT of stuff in them for reloading.
