I have to say Blacktail is right on this one for the westside.  I do some packing in areas and it's less pressure, but you better be getting to it early and have your scouting done and a bull picked out.  I do hunt archery and I think it's a whole lot different than modern firearm, but it's still the same.

So what area is the best for packing on the west side ? A guy at the sport shop told me we don't have alot of public land on the west side. What state forrest do you guys think will be worth my time ? I don't know any people who live in WA so I can't hunt any private land, I need to stick to the public grounds.
MADMAX:
I'd do Lewis River, big country, lots of woods, lots of elk.
model70man:
What is the name of the national forrest that lewis river is in ?
MADMAX:
Gifford Pinchot
