Maybe

Care to expand PB  :chuckle:
One of my buddies is flying in from MT on saturday and another one is flying in from Idaho on friday. First time the three of us have all been able to get together in a year so were excited to wet some lines! Its the only fishery I really know of this time of year.

Is it just late silvers now and do they stay bright that far upriver?  Aren't the steelhead a bit of a later run?  I've never put much effort into fishing the Skook, but it is close enough I wouldn't mind.

not really its the first time fishing winter run fish since I moved to Montana. Ive fished it a few times when I was in high school. now I'm back so ill have to figure it out one way or another.
The skook is the only winter fishery I really know of that's some what close so we'll give it a shot.

Are steelhead usually in there this time of year or do they run later?

There is a larger river to the south that has been amazingly good (even though its not supposed to have any early hatchery fish anymore). Could try that. Won't be alone.

Let's just say....  Fish the lower part of the river with a float and a nightmare jig. Know a guy who did quite well last weekend with that set up.  There is nothing but soreback coho in the upper river.
