Deer of the year 2013
« on: January 01, 2014, 03:09:32 PM »
Last year it was the tripod buck and Link's desert buck, but who has the champ this year?  I'd love to see pics of the best bucks out there in all three species!  I'm primarily thinking about deer taken in  Washington, but we can throw in out-of-state bucks from members as well just make sure and note the state.  Any mule deer or Whitetail over 200 should be posted whether it's the champion or not:-). For Blacktail anything over 160.  Anyway, I just love seeing pics of some of the biggest and best each year!

I forgot to add in the OP that the type of tag, where, or how you got it is not required though you can share if you want.  This thread is intended to honor the best animals, not start a debate on hunting style, prowess, etc.

Whats sad is people will not post some of their fine animas due to all the gaff they get from internet cops...

Hopefully some will pop up on here that I have seen...

I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

I agree, and that's why I don't expect people to say what tag , how , or what unit.  You can even post only a pic of the animal and  say., "Hunter chooses to remain anonymous.  207 gross, WA."

Sorry, should have made that clearer. What I'm visualizing is buck pics appearing and gradually getting bigger.  I just included those numbers so that people will keep posting huge bucks even if a bigger buck has already been posted otherwise one buck like the tripod buck last year would end the thread.

Scored around 130.  Mule deer Champ until proven otherwise:-). My guess is he won't be champ for long.

Don't forget there were some stud whitetail killed this year too, jjhunter, archery288 and DBHawthorn's to name a few.

I'd be willing to bet Hogsnipers is about the highest grossing this year though.

My vote goes to Bonnie' s first blacktail.  Had to edit after I saw your criteria.  Stand by my thinking it's deer of the year,  but 160 as a minimum for blacktail?  That's a pretty high bar.

Hogsniper killed a giant deer with a bow.  Another member killed a great Idaho buck.

That's funny, that deer couldn't even hold that rack up.  :chuckle:
