Goose Praire 08 Bull
« on: November 16, 2008, 11:35:30 AM »
Here is my bull I took in 2008, hunted my ass off for 2 weeks, missed a big 6 point earlier in the season and got this guy on the last day of the hunt mid day. 3 years in a row taking my elk, but been waiting since i was 12 for the big bull tag and for sure didn't want to eat my tag. There were 2 other bulls with this guy, a spike and a 6x6, this 4x4 was the first to come off the hill and shoot it was the last day and I dumped him.

Here is the Bull I had pushed around for the majority of my elk season and he would never run when spooked, just would walk away, being that it was so thick where he was. I got a crack at him the 2nd tuesday of the hunt and shot right over him, man was I pissed.. Oh well still filled my tag..... Got a great trail cam pic of him tho......

Good job on sticking with it and getting it done, that tag can be a tough one to fill.

good to see people filling their tags in there. I had that for archery and wasn't able to fill it. Did see a bull that looks really similar to that one that is on your trail cam. did you see many other people filling bull tags?

2 guys in the camp next to us got theirs, they were both 4x5 rags, way smaller than my 4x4, and a camp around the corner got a decent 5x6 that had some mass, other than that didnt see many animals hanging!

Nice Bull!
Sounds exactly like my story...I missed a seven point and after a few tears found a 5 point to take home with me.
That is awesome elk country to hunt!
Enjoy those steaks!

My dad filled his goose prairie permit during archery season.  He eats better than tag soup!
