:bdid:  You've been listening to too many wolf lovers.

Hunters used to enjoy multiple elk seasons all around the park, that has mostly been eliminated due to wolves. Wolves have eaten so many elk that the park elk population can't even support the wolves and they are dropping in numbers and leaving the park to eat elk in other areas outside the park. Elk numbers can be controlled by hunting seasons, when elk get too numerous seasons can be increased to reduce the population.

It's sometimes hard to understand the fight unless you have been in it for awhile. I suppose it is also hard to understand, for some, to watch your state game agency lie time after time, ignore the impact wolves are having on game herds and livestock. And watch the USFSW do the same.

I'm sure that most of you will be very understanding after 10 more years of lies from WDFW and the USFWS.

Maybe it's true WDFW just needs to buy more land, Habitat…..

I don't think its that hard to understand... NOW... I Understand why Scott was so frustrated with IDFG. I just think when the frustration spilled over to people Who were just starting  to confront the issue he made it harder to spread the message. I would bet a cold one that he understands that better now.

As far as the BS "Carrying capacity" Argument i keep hearing. You could make that argument for the YNP where no hunting is allowed. Hunting = Management   So you cannot compare YNP with ID MT, or WA at large. The whole reason why we are SUPPOSED to have game agencies are to MAXIMIZE opportunities of every kind. We COULD and DID have wolves while still having plentiful deer and elk. Those numbers are on the decline because attempts to effectively mange these wolves have been hindered at every possibility. Here is "Carrying Capacity" so that every one can under stand. We have 2 glasses of water. Both are at capacity. One is managing for maximum utility and the other is not.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Although all my hunting is done in Washington state and my wolf concerns are based on game i hunt here in Washington.Out of the 2 responses to my question(one from jon.brown509 and one from bearpaw)I must say bearpaws response makes much more scense.I know this thread is mostly about wolf concerns and management in other states but this has become an issue throughout the west. Didnt mean to hijack :sry:......Great videos by the way.

You know what I'm going to step away from any thread wolf related,All you do Bearpaw is spread further extreme  view's on wolves and everything you post is from people who do not have anything peer reviewed and are not credited. You have no clue how to handle wildlife so from a conservation stand point you and me are going to disagree.Anyone else who shares these extreme views by all means feel free you well always be outnumber by reasonable logic minds who well have majority of control over the wildlife populations, how there managed, hunted, cared for..ect.You just continue to cry on here about how much everything sucks and that anyone who say's wolves are ok out there is a lie ,false, fake, not true,B.S...ect .at the end of the day you can't change what's been proven and put into effective conservation. You can corrupt peoples minds all you want with all this there should be 2000000000 elk in Idaho. Wolves are here to stay get used to it instead of playing B.S. games go to the sportsman meetings throughout the states and get educated.

Rockholm is one more wolf hack. If you killed every single wolf today and threw everyone he thinks wronged the world with wolves in jail I very much doubt he'd be out there trying to help other game animals that people like to hunt.

Ranchers and outfitters didn't come racing out like they have for wolves when small game hunters started to see declines in sage and sharp tailed grouse in Washington. Oh they'll talk your ear off about how poor predator management has led to declines in those animals as well, but when the "grouse in the coal mine" was dying they were nowhere to be found. No, they were out chasing cattle or guiding people on elk hunts because those are what affect their bottom lines.

Guys like Rockholm want to help hunters, they just need to be big game hunters.

They went down to carrying capacity simple answer. The Environment  can't handle Elk or deer above there carrying capacity for very long before they crash ,Yes we all lose a lil bit of hunting opportunity's but you still get the chance to go out and get one  that well never change. We had a over population problem with elk and deer primarily elk ,They were out of habit  and caught out grazing in the open of meadows in places were elk would never normally graze due to lack of apex predators  and everything suffered ,Now i'm not giving all credit or even half to wolves like too many knuckleheads due,But with what were seeing in YNP it's amazing to watch the place return to normal as elk have been around 4,000 "the Carrying population is about 5,000 on the park" the last 4-5 years ,What's even better is that  now the wolves are starting to go after more buffalo "like they were supposed to in the first place"  and the park is returning to normal.
Bottom line Is that wolves due take a toll on animals and they well never eat them selves out of food or over populate the  Environment they're in.Everyone around YNP thinks that 20,000 to 10,000 is were it's supposed to be but that's almost 4 times the carrying population ,so now that it's normal everyone is freaking out about it when it has been ridiculously high for most there lives to see it return to normal the last 5 years or so does that make since? :dunno:

..Idk how anybody can over look what wolves have done...i doubt anyone with any field time will say there wasn't enough food for elk esp when all we find is elk killed by wolves and not by hunger

Guys like Rockholm know more then most of you on this site where wolves and the whys come together, his tool is through video. Perhaps people like you, who have very little knowledge about the wolf agenda are appalled, the rest are for the wolf agenda.

You talk about ranchers etc. being silent on sage and sharp tailed grouse, but only complain when wolves are killing their livestock, makes me wonder how: You would feel if the feds took your tools and gave you a bicycle to ride to work with. I bet you would be one of the first in line at the complaint section. My guess is those who complain are the ones being hurt the most.

In every aspect of life there are two categories, those that "get it" and those that "don't get it", Rockholm gets it with regard to the whole wolf issue.
Many on HW and on this  thread "don't get it". I fear they never will.
