Turkey gun sights?
« on: February 25, 2014, 07:02:03 PM »
I was skimming through the regs and I didn't see anything about sights for the turkey gun. Can anyone help me with this and maybe let me know what you guys are using. Maybe I will have to invest in a good sight.

thanks in advance...

I use a 2-7x scope.

Shotgun. Rifles are not legal in Washington.

I use a set of fiber optics that clamp on. I went through a few sets before I found some I like.

I put a set of Williams firesights on my 870 when I choked it down really tight so I wouldn't miss if they were too close.  I shot the factory bead for a long time

I had a tru-glo red dot for a while that I liked a lot. Also had a rear peep front post I liked too.

We use the Dead Ringer beard buster sights and like them very much. Possibly putting a Red Dot on the wife's shotgun for turkey season.

I've used several different fiber optics, but as I got older my eyesight changed enough that either the front sight was blurry while the back sight was clear or vice-versa.   So I spent $50 for a holographic sight that projects 1 of 4 reticles on a small glass screen, had elevation and windage adjustments to dial it in during patterning, and seven lighting adjustments for varying conditions ... you just "put" the reticle on the spot you want to hit and you don't have to keep your head glued to the stock .... it's never failed. It's also very quick on target acquistion since you're not trying to align two sights with the spot you want to hit ... just the one onto the kill spot.  Well worth this ole man's money !
