I know the critters are basically dead but those ones where they are tumbling down the mountain were rough. Wonder how much damage to the meat and/or antlers was done on some of those.

Definitely not something you would do on purpose, but in steep country it happens sometimes.

Even if it isn't torn open, deep bruising can cause some changes to the meat and not to mention if there is internal damage then all those juices from the gut sack can leak out.

Blood is still moving around in their body and there is still blood in the system so they can still bruise, or so I have read. I am not trying to argue but it is just what I read and once the blood gets into the meat, it can effect the flavor. Whoever wrote the article might have been full of poo so who the heck knows. Still won't stop me from taking the shot unless it might fall off a cliff and I could lose it all together.

Sweet video.  All that meat was fine.  That buck that slid down next to the guy and he shot it again and dropped it.  That was a good time to be filming.
