Finally a fresh one
« on: April 18, 2014, 07:03:01 PM »
I have been finding a few old ones, but this is my first fresh one from this year. It is the first one that I have found hung up on things above the ground.

Beautiful German Shepard. Do you have him trained to sniff out sheds?

Thanks, no he is not trained to sniff out sheds. He enjoys sheds when we find them and if they have a little blood on them we have a gentle tug of war.  He goes anywhere with me though. He alerts me if an animal is close to us in the brush, he has warned me when a bear was very close to us before along with other animals.  If you look at his feet you can see that we had just walked through a marshy area. I always have him on a leash out there because I don't trust him not to wander off yet. He does ok when we watch bears, deer and elk but he about broke that leash one day when a coyote popped up in front of us.
