There's a thread on the elk hunting forum you might want to check out.

That country is literally straight up and down. Lots of hoofing it as roads are few and far between

Did you draw a tag in there? Or will you be chasing spikes? I'm not sure very many guys go in there just for spikes
Beautiful country for sure though! Best of luck to you.

No tag, part of the reason I want to go there becouse not to many guys think it's worth it. I enjoy being away from people and roads. It is a lot of work, planning another trip there this sat. Also hopen to see a bear or two while I'm hunting there in Oct.

Mathews13 where are you from? I know somebody with about 100 acres on grouse flats that has a cabin. Don't know if I can get you in the cabin but I do know some places. PM me!

I love that area. It's just plain awesome. Can't wait for deer muzzy season over there! Sept 27 won't come soon enough.

Good thing you got your elk hunt in. The controlled burn they did the week of modern firearms deer slighly exceeded it's projected 5,000 acres and chased everything out of there and down into the private lands.
