I just got a pair of 90% pants for $207, hunting second half September in Idaho. Are they going to be to warm?

The 90% would be to warm for me in September.  :twocents:

I can live with my lower hot as long as I've got breathable undershorts void of cotton.  So the 90% pants have been rather nice when I'm in stuff that cuts and pokes.  Problem with the 90% for me has been movement.  They just are not nearly as good for climbing even though the thickness in the knees is nice to reduce the banged and cut up knees when working up sharp rock nasties.  The 90% is much nicer for me when working areas with a lot of those ankle ripping black berry vines.  Those things rip the heck out of my ascent pants and don't seem to bother the 90%.  Mountain pant could probably cover both duties good enough I guess.  Though my thought is it's good to have both pants (90% and Ascent) in the arsenal.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

figured I couldn't pass up the price. Because I hunt with dad who is 75 this year, we have to sit and call a lot so thought the warmer pants might be better. Once he stops hunting, I might have to get a lighter pair.

I suppose it depends on where in Idaho and how high up you will be. I hunt in the SE corner at about 8,000'. In the early am before the sun comes up it's about 40 degrees. Then it will climb up into the 80's. The 90% will way too warm. I just picked up a pair of the KUIU Tiburons to try out and my bro in law got a pair of the attack pants to try out this season. Mid October when rifle season opens up those 90% will work good. I used mine last year guiding over there and they worked great with a base layer.

I've been using the ascent pant in open country camo for a couple of years.  In light rain I put on a pair of Kenetrex gaiters.  In heavy rain I pull the Sitka Cloudburst pants out of my pack.  When it's cold I add a merino base layer.  This combination is all I need from the September high buck all the way through late season whitetails.

Just pulled the trigger(convincing of wife) and purchased the Ascent pants, jackets, and core base shirt. Great to know everybody has such high regards.
