2014 cows

Haven't seen a 2014 cow post yet so I'll start it off.  Shot this one last Thursday 25 yards from my tree stand.

GMU 328, gave her the shuttle T treatment at 4 yards. Only went 25 yards and piled up.

Stuck her at 645 pm on 9/5 from my treestand.  Quartering away shot with a total pass through the opposite side shoulder.  I was amazed when she ran 100+ yards but the bloodtrail was easy to follow.  Spent the entire next day packing meat but it was well worth it.

Colockum cow. 13 yards after 3 1/2 hr stalk on the herd she was with, she went 40 yards and piled up.

Thanks, it felt great from the release and stayed true all the way there. 45yrds shot and she expired within 20-30 seconds. This is my second elk and it is amazing how quick they go down when shot placement is on target. See "No Bull Here" post for specifics. Ate the first lb of sausage on Sunday, and it was fantastic. Steaks tonight!!!

Looks like you put a nice shot on her.

I hate ALL of you!!!     Just kidding.  Congrats to all.    It's either late archery (352 or 346) or elk tag stew for me.  The only shootable elk that presented itself for me was a 5x5 broadside at 30 yards looking the other way.  (Nile - spike/cow only  :bash: :bash: :bash:)

Not the best pic...but she was a big fat cow.  Hoping to get better pics from my buddies camera when he gets around to e-mailing them.

50 yards quartering away shot with a Mathews Heli-m  70 lbs with 30" easton Axis N-fused arrow tipped with a Standard Slick Trick 125 grain.
