Congrats Hirshey! Beautiful bull. More than once I've left my safety on, on accident, taking a shot at big game. Sometimes its a blessing as I feel the "jerky" trigger pull. It makes me reset and calm my mind to make a smooth squeeze and a good shot. Great story, good luck the rest of your season!

Awesome job, great writeup, and nice animal.  It is heartening to see someone appreciate one of these oil tags and work hard to get it done like you do.
Everything he said.  I admire your heart, your grit, and your love for all things wild.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Congrats! Jeff and I wondered if you got the big boy. We went looking for you on Friday afternoon and ran across another hunter who said you got him at around 0800. He gave us rough directions on where you were parked, but we didn't find your rig. We figured you must've got him packed out and heaed for home. So stoked you got him...........he's an absolute stud!

I have to say it was a pleasure meeting you. Both Jeff and I are VERY impressed that you took on the task of going after a moose on your own. It was obvious that you're a very accomplished hunter who holds the utmost of respect for the game you hunt.

On a side note, Jeff got his deer on Friday evening. A respectable 3 point whitetail............his first with a muzzleloader also.

Hope to cross paths in the woods again one day.

Matt

Matt! Glad you both tagged out... thanks again for sharing in some of the excitement with me! I had my radio on your guys' channel just in case I heard you nearby, but figured I should let you get your hunt on for Jeff! You two were very friendly and a pleasure to meet.. that's one of the fabulous things about this community.. you get to meet some amazing people you'd otherwise never knew existed. :) Thank you again for taking the time to chat with me those two days!
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Thanks again all.. So I got permission from the hunt-wa member that gave me some advice and offered to come help drag and offered his help to a complete stranger to reveal who he is.. I recommend to anyone drawing this tag to contact goldminer.. Super friendly, helpful gent! Thanks John!

Also, my taxidermist says that's the largest moose he's had in his shop.. He is going to get it measured for me.. Thinks it might be up there for a muzzleloader record. Kinda cool I suppose! :)
