Found this on a tall peak in Idaho. Have also found some elk call, forgot what it was now.

I found a rusted up Leathernman while antelope hunting in MT.  I sent it to the factory in Portland with a sob story and they sent me a brand new one.  Came across some old bunkers at an old nuke site in MO (now a  wildlife area).  4 foot thick concrete walls with solid steel doors nearly a foot thick. My buddy found a really cool memorial in the 342 overlooking Bald Mountain.  Sadly, a couple years later there was another one right next to it.  I've always wanted to know the story behind those old boys.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

just remembered another one, out dinkin around where me and some buddies use to go wheelin in sequim up johnson valley rd theres an old spur road that takes you to what we called the bone trail, old stories of the KKK and masked men with AKs that will lock you behind the gate and rob you of your vehicle and everything besides your underwear and make you walk back to town... but anyway my buddy and i heard of the spot and thought what the hell lets check it out, we found the trail and it was littered with bones. we kept walking and saw a bald eagle shot and killed, went a little further and found a dandy 2pt buck that looked to be shot execution style, (center of the head bullet hole) thought that was wierd but kept going until we found a doe with its stomach cut open and a baby fawn pulled out of its gut. needless to say we turned around and i never went back

my buddy went back the fallowing weekend and made it a ways back there until he got to a cabin that had a decomposing elk hanging from the front awning or breezeway of the log cabin.

Sounds as bad as the compound that used to be out by Joyce.  Bunkers and watchtowers.  They would make the kids patrol the perimeter with shotguns.  Like Waco meets deliverance.

Phantom16, Was that in the Salmon/NorthFork country?

The memorial was farther north, up in the panhandle.

It never ceases to amaze me - the things people willingly admit to on the internet.

I have never found any gear just old camps and sheds.  Someone is going to find my Core4 element jacket though, somewhere between the top of Bethel and Timberwolf.   :bash:  :bash:
