« on: December 16, 2008, 07:19:56 PM »
Has anyone ever shot a canadian with oarange feet and a beak?  I guess its smaller than a lesser in size and my father in laws friend got one of these last week around quincy.    I am going to get a pic of it for everyone to see.  I personally have not seen one of these.

Could it be a Whitefronted goose(Speckle belly?) or a cross?

I have no idea, I am fairly new to the waterfowl hunting.  My father in law got me into it a few years back and I am loving it.  I am going to get pics of this and post for all of you verterans out there to make the call.

It sounds like a speckle belly to me. I saw more around my house the first few weeks of October than I have ever seen. I haven't seen them for a while so I think they continued down on there migration. They make a really pretty mount.

I had a couple of Candians mate with my grey geese. {Toluse?} A couple of generations worth. They fly south in the winter and a couple usually come back in the spring. They were pretty funny looking Canadians.
The first bird may get the worm, but it's the second rat that gets the cheese.
