Sweet! Good job Kevin, never seen a bearded hen in all my years of chasing turkeys.
I never have tried with a bow - yet, this spring might be it.
Heading out this weekend to try for a fall bird or two with my brother.

Rarely used to see bearded hens, but they have become very common in 121 now.  In fact, if you see a flock of ten or more hens it seems at least one is bearded these days.  There is a group of 3 that I see in the same area quite regularily.  Must be a something in the gene pool lately.  That one does have a nice beard though, good job!!

Congrats on your trophy ... extra sweet when taken with a bow.

FYI --- I've always heard that approximately 10% of all hens have a beard .... I've personally seen 3 taken in the last 14 years.  Good on you !!!

Thanks everyone!!! The beard measured out to 6". I've heard of hens with Beards but personally never seen one until last weekend. I passed up on a nice tom to get her.

Nice pic PaBen ... thanks for sharing.

Last time I was up at a friends outside of Kettle Falls he has 3 bearded hens in a group of approx. 20 birds.  I understand that 10% of all hens have beards ...... what next, cross dressing as toms.
