question for the whitetail guru's

Been out the last 4day's and finally saw a very nice buck. Well, jumped him actually. Question is, should I give him a day to relax or get back there first thing in the a.m? There hasn't been any pressure in the area at all, just not sure what to do this time. Thanks

I would base it to a degree on how bad I bumped him. If you spooked him bad it may not be bad to not pressure him more, but you can do that from a distance by spotting and still have a hope of getting him if he's in a spot to get closer.

I don't think to bad, was still hunting and he was behind a small group of trees. He jumped out and straight away from me without snorting. At that point I backed out of the area not wanting to put any more pressure than need be on him.

I'm assuming you are hunting with a rifle? Did he see you or wind you? Any idea how old of a buck?

Thanks for the replies. He saw me first unfortunately and is probably a 4-5 year old from what I saw of the body size and rack. Nicest one I've seen in a few year's. Snuck in this a.m. but didn't see him, just a spike and small 3point. Will be back at it shortly.

really hard to judge..there are different type of whitetails and how they react to pressure and the country they live in. If its a resident buck in his core he will be around, but if its a buck that was just bedded and tired from chasing and away from his core you may never see him again.

Well, just got home last night and nothing to show from it. Never saw him again, I think he was still in the same area from the track's I was seeing. Alway's next year tho. Thank's for the replies, that's what makes this site so great!!
