Anyone out there have experience with GoPros? Good? Bad? Hero 3 plus. Silver? Black? What's your recommendation for a camera to be used hunting, fishing, skiing, biking? Is the additional cost for newer models or from silver to black really worth it? If you were on a tight budget what would you get. I am not looking to create professional videos. Just good quality videos that I can look back upon and share with friends and family

hoyt2002:

I have the silver and it does what I need. I don't have any experience with the black. They are a lot of fun almost addictive. Have fun.

YJ Guide Service:

I have the black in the hero three plus and love it. No experience with any of the others. I was told to save up for the black when I was getting ready to buy one. Everyone I talked to said the same thing to get the black..Just my two cents..

I have the black and have filmed several hunts with it. I would go a different route if looking to film hunts. I called in a yote and shot it at 42 yards and looks like 100 yards away. Same with a couple of turkey hunts. It's. Good for close ups, but 40 yards is pretty close for hunting and still looks a mile away...

Netminder01:

I have 3 for filming different things and use them for POV & "B" roll mostly. Borrow one or two from a friend before you buy... make sure it works for you in the way you want to use them.
