GPS question ??
Tbob:
So I'm going on a hunt in AZ for mulies in January with a buddy, was wondering about my garmin GPS, do I need to remove my WA hunt maps chip when I get to AZ or will it recognize that I'm in a different state and work there with my WA chip still in it? Hope that makes sense? Just wondering if the chip has to be removed to work in AZ? Thanks all!!
CAMPMEAT:
I'd take it out just to be safe from loosing it. I forget and leave my Washington map in when I go wolf hunting in Idaho and it does not recognize it.
Bob33:
Yes. The GPS will only accept one chip, and each state requires a different chip if you are referring to the Hunting GPS products.
Tbob:
Okay. Cool! Thanks for the heads up! I'm actually more worried about removing and losing it. Ha! That's why I was hoping to just leave it in. Nice and safe in there. I'll take it out and leave it home somewhere safe. I'll be sure and tell the girl where I left it. That way I won't forget and loose it. Getting forgetful in my old age! Thanks again for the heads up!!
MtnMuley:
If you don't plan on getting an AZ chip, leaving the WA one in doesn't affect anything and like you mentioned, it's protected where you won't lose it. :twocents: Just don't lose your gps, lol.
