Now!...actually you could've bought last Dec and applied Jan 1 if you wanted points.  Can buy until end of March.

The applications are on sale now.  They go on sale Dec-Mar.  But you can't go online to submit--points or permit until Jan 1.  If you don't go online, you get automatically put in for permit (not points).
You can buy it online right now if you want.  Gets sent to your house within a few days.

Purchase online.  Following purchase, you need to then submit application online.  It is very easy to purchase and submit online.  Don't forget to submit otherwise you get points only and no chance of drawing.

That's not correct. It will be submitted automatically If you do nothing after purchase.

No  need to submit after purchase. You are automatically entered by purchasing.

From DFW
"How do I enter the drawing after I purchase the application?
Your application is automatically entered into the drawing (there are no hunt choice numbers to submit)."

That means I know a second person that did not get drawn last year.....other than coach.   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  I thought he didn't draw cause he forgot to submit.  I guess he is one of the unlucky few.   :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

if you don't draw , are the points carried over?  do they last forever, like if you don't apply for 10 years do you still have the points?    mike w

yes, they build if you don't draw.  You would have 1 point toward the draw this year and if you don't draw, you would add that point to the next year you apply.

OK....somebody please explain to me what this multiple-season permit is, exactly.  I read the definition in the Hunting Regs, but I'm still confused.

OK....somebody please explain to me what this multiple-season permit is, exactly.  I read the definition in the Hunting Regs, but I'm still confused.
It allows you to hunt all the general seasons (and both sides of the state in the case of elk) and apply different weapons for special permits.
Ex:  deer multi tag you can hunt early/late archery, early/late muzzleloader and modern firearm.  Only one tag, so you can only kill one animal.  But have a lot more time to get it done.  Have to use the allowed weapon for each season.  If you are a bowhunter--you can hunt every general season with your bow.  But if you're a mod guy, you can only use the rifle in mod, but can get a bow/muzzy to hunt the others.
For elk, you don't have to choose east/west for your tag---just go to the side you want.
In case of special permits--you can put in for say a quality bull east muzzy and a quality bull west rifle in the same year.
