Harvest Report

(1/2) > >>

Machias:
:)  Hey it's about time to chase some gobblers, how about we report back here when you get one.  Make sure you provide lots of details, weight, spurs, beard and how the hunt went, ie type of calls and other equipment used, decoys etc...  I'm taking my 14 year old out this Sat and they are calling for a high of 72 degrees, should really get the birds fired up.

jackelope:
Machias...good luck with the kid. i'll definitely post up a report when we get back...there's 4 of us going for the opener.
where's that weather forecast for?

boneaddict:
Sounds good.  I saw sign last night, but didn't hear anything.  It wasn't what I was after, but always on the lookout.

jackelope:
bone-is their a good # of birds over by your place??
i got a neighbor kid who wants to hunt and his dad doesn't know what he's doing with turkeys, so i thought maybe i'd take them both somewhere, but it's gotta be a little closer to home for me than colville.

boneaddict:
Not at all.  its sort of a rare thing actually.  they are scattered in pockets here and there. Enough for a seasoned hunter if they are good and get on the birds before any other hunter finds them. There are more on the Clockum, but not really enough to get a young lad interested.  If you really want to take a kid, I'd spring for the Colville or Springdale area or Klickitat.  There was a post on here somewhere about kids and turkeys on a farm down in Goldendale.
