See guys, I'm reasonable. . I own four Remington's
I poke the fire with newer ones.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I have had a few R700's, and I have really enjoyed the platform. My current go-to rifle is a R700 SPS DM in 30-06, and it has put some meat in the freezer every time I was able to find myself within 200 yards of a legal deer. Don't get me wrong, I can take them out a lot farther than that comfortably for targets, but that is my comfortable hunting range. :tup:

Believe it or not, the Negative Nellys interwebs don't have anything to do with that platform you now own. It's a good one regardless of the model letters attributed to it. I'd suggest running the serial by Remington to see if there are any recalls - but outside of that, enjoy it.

They work ok as fire pokers but make better use of it as a lamp. :chuckle:
I place of this, imagine a 700 - mount a scope with a large objective you'd have a heck of a cup holder.
Or go tactical, a better chassis with a picatinny rail and skys the limit.
