Astoria Report
« on: August 07, 2015, 10:37:53 AM »
Fishing is good and word is out.  There are a lot of fish in for how early it is.  I wouldn't wait around for the traditional peak.

I'm scheduled to be there on the 22nd/23rd. I hope it doesn't get shut down early. Keep the reports coming.

Relative to the tide, when do you guys focus on the area around the bridge?  We used to fish B10 itself when I was younger, and 3 hours after low tide was the understood time to be there (at least among our group).  Just curious if there's a similar rule of thumb for a little further upstream.

Above the bridge can be good from 2 hours before and after the high slack.

Fish above the bridge a couple hours before high tide then after the change troll downstream with the outgoing tide until you find fish or bait.  At least that is what has always worked well for us.  I just sold my boat so I won't be hitting it this year.  :'(

A couple hours before and after.  You can really whack them above the bridge during the first part of outgoing.  And, to answer Magnum's question: neither.  Lead and flasher/bait.
