OnXMaps app
« on: September 13, 2015, 08:41:53 AM »
I recently purchased this app in Lieu of buying a new GPS.  The  best feature on it for me was the off-line cache of the trails and Topo that I was going to use on my elk hunt tomorrow. It suddenly has disappeared from my iPhone and my iPad, did anyone else experienced this?

Odd. Was this app time sensitive? Like needed to be renewed, or perhaps a trial app? I'd figure it was like their SD card or downloaded version for the GPS where it doesn't expire.

You get a 7 day trial with it.   I purchased it a week ago getting ready for the hunt.  Great app for my intentions. It just looks like they removed a great feature with no warning.

I still have mine.
:dunno:

Did you go into your App Store and see if it's listed under your "purchased" apps? You maybe have to download the purchased version. I wonder if the free trial is a different app than the purchased one. I don't remember that about mine but this is the 3rd year I've had mine.
Good luck.
You can reach OnXmaps on here and send them a message if needed.

I have checked everything I can.  The selection of  Topo & trails is not in the layers.  It has disappeared from both of my devices and even though I cached the maps, I can't view them because I would have to select it from the drop down.

I'd call them or send him a pm on here although calling might be faster.

I now looked and see that the topo and trails selection is gone which stinks. I liked that view the most. Huh. Weird.

That was one of my favorites when I had the trial. Hopefully it's not gone forever

Mine was glitchy this year until I updated it through the app store and it is now perfect.  I can't imagine not having it.

If you go into Map Views(top right of the screen) do you still have the Topo and Trails option?

Hey guys we will get it back up and running.  This is the email I had from my engineering team Friday.

The Topo + Trails basemap (powered by NeoTreks) is not working right now, and is causing massive issues loading layers in HUNT. We have pulled it from our customers layers list until we address this critical issue.

We'll follow up as we learn more and attempt to fix this issue.

We had to turn it off for now to keep the rest of the App working, sorry for the inconvenience.  I'm working on implementing a notification for these types of issue via email, in-app messages, and push notifications.  We should have that up and running in the next month.  This will make it easier to communicate if something like this happens.

Cheers,
Matt
