This January my daughter and I found  set of "dog" tracks in the Boistfort area that were almost as big as my hand, miles from any house and was accompanied by a pile of poop that was 6X the size of any coyote poop that I have ever seen.

From the depth and angles of the paw print, I would say it was a chocolate lab.  Now if the angle increases by 1 degree it would be a black lab.  :chuckle:  Sure is K9 just not sure if its the wild or domestic type.

Definitely not big enough for me to consider a wolf. My lab weighs 103 pounds and has big doofy paws, I often wonder how many people see his tracks all over the woods I take him and wonder, WOLF!

Based on the measurement of my own hand to try and put the photo to scale, the track is over 4" long and exceeds that of most domestic dog species and within the size range of a wolf track.  l am not saying it's a wolf, just a very large canine.  And without additional information can't say much more.  Thanks for sharing the photo.

Dog.  Blunt claws, round in shape, toes and pad same or similar depth. Keep in mind that tracks often "grow" as they age depending on the substrate.  :twocents:

It was a 81.5 lb young male wolf.  He is having self-identity problems because the WDFW says he does not exist.  Last year he was rudely kicked out of a Cle Elum pack by his second cousin...something about a She-Wolf.  Since then he's been living a life of aimless wandering and terrorizing other animals.  You can tell by looking at the track that he had just killed a trophy buck and eaten only the nose and b-hole.  He was headed back for an afternoon nap when he stepped there.  He hopes to find romance this fall/winter (angle of strike of the middle pad tells us this) and he is torn about his prospects of dating a coyote.  They're so yappy after all.

Other than that there is not a lot I can tell you.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
