Most people are going with the 300blk out in the AR because the 7.62x39 doesn't work that well without a curved magazine and you get pretty close to the same performance also the black out uses standard AR mags.

Had a buddy with one and it didnt run that well. Cant use steel cased because they dont like the laqure. Small mags and brass cases worked best. If you found a smoking deal on an upper you could put a 6.5grendal barrel on it. Thats what I would do. I belive its just the bolt mag and barrel are different  from standard 223 upper.

What kind of ammo you run though it?

So i have shot both AK 47 and AR15 in 7.62x39. Im not really sure why you would want one in that caliber here is my reasoning. 7.62x39 has pretty comparable ballistics to a 30-30. AK and lever guns make great iron sighted 200 yard or less rifles. If you wanted a semi auto iron sighted gun that would chew through ANY kind of ammo you fed it an AK of various makes will do so quite well with reasonable ballistics and accuracy at less than 200 yards. IMO that caliber qualifies as a brush gun.

IMO the AR platform excels in the accuracy department but is more particular about its ammo. with a scope even the light 223 can shoot out to 600 yards pretty accurately. To get there you need glass of some sort.

When you combine the 2 platforms i think you get the worst of both worlds unless there is a very specific need you have. I have not heard of anyone running an AR in 7.62x39 suppressed like they have for the 300 blackout. It MAY do well at shooting that caliber with a Can but im not sure what is gained from the blackout other than ammo prices and since i would only run brass through an AR Im not sure there is that much $ difference.
