There are no docks (its not like Westport) to crab from since the port is so far in from the river.   I think people may try to crab from the north jetty but its NOT SOMETHING I WOULD RECCOMEND...very dangerous and not worth the risk in my opinion.  I know   a couple of guys who tried crabbing a couple of times over at the boat ramp at the state park but they did not catch anything.  Good news is clamming is open this weekend if that's something you like to do?  I also assume crabbing is probably not very good right now as well...the commercials got a late start this year and hit it hard ...good luck and be safe.

Try surf fishing for perch, use regular old worms and large hooks. You'll catch crab, feels like their "plucking" on the line. Then just set the hook and maintain steady pressure (don't pump) until they are on the sand.

Plenty of places for crab pots a few miles south in Ilwaco.

Docks in oysterville about the 240 block of long beach.  At least that is where we use to throw them.

I always wondered if you could anchor a trap in the sand at low tide and run a long rope inland.
then at high tide pull it in.
 :dunno:
I know next to nothing about crabbing, but see plenty of good size crab parts on the beach and been wondering about getting a few.

try some crab snares on a good casting rod. They are fun and work great

My wife brought home crab the other night to make prawn and crab melts for dinner. It was good, just not up to what I expected and kind of bland, not like the taste of Dungeness I grew up with. I asked her where she got the Dungeness crab?
She pulled out a can, that said Blue crab meat!  :yike:

First hint of home sickness, you can't buy Dungeness crap in OKC!  :'(
