Magnum primers are best for slow burning powders especially in large capacity cases however, Speer recommends using magnum primers with any ball or spherical powder charge for better , more reliable ignition. I've heard that magnum primers are also the way to go when used for hunting in extremely cold climates.
The cci br primers as I understand it, are slightly less explosive as the normal cci 200s but are suppose to have more uniform body and anvil dimensions.
