It shouldn't be this hard
« on: September 23, 2016, 08:53:05 PM »
So it's been about two months and I STILL haven't found a bow scale.
I started out at a local hardwear store (they also sell hunting gear) they didn't have it. So the guy that worked there tells me to go a town over to the local bow shops, that's right a BOW SHOP and they didn't sell it. So that guy suggests going to a tractor supply, and guess what..... They were all out of stock! And the guy wasn't even sure if they sold them regularly. How can something this essential be impossible to find? I mean doesn't EVERYONE who owns a bow have one. And yes I've tried Cabelas, the scale weight didn't change so now I have no idea what my bows weight is set to. The last scale I bought was on Amazon and it turns out it wasn't even made for bows.
So if anyone knows a shop in western WA or if you know one on Amazon that would be great!

Why do you need a scale ? Are you changing your draw weight on a regular basis?

I would just bum around at your local produce shop and use there's...as well as pick up free lessons

A fishing scale that has a slide that stays at the maximum amount will work as well.

Well I don't know what my draw weight is set to. I tried adjusting  it and then I haven't been able to find a good scale since. :chuckle: I'll try that

Check out Kenny Parson's archery equipment website. He has lots of good tips and all the parts you should need for bow tuning..
Here's a bow scale, 49.99$

Silver Arrow Bowmen  has one in the clubhouse and Riverside Archery in Mount Vernon has one they can check it for you.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Haha don't worry I wasn't planning on going to a produce shop. But I did think it was really weird lol. Thanks! I might have to if I can't find a scale.
