Katadyn water filter

I have an older model. The guide pro.  I just checked amazon and for the cost of a replacement cartridge, I think I can just buy a newer model.  Am I wrong?  Anyhow, I like a high output pump, so anyone with a newer pump or who realized the same thing chime in.
