Couple more from the holiday weekend. Lucky enough to have shot 9 bands on two hunts! We had a pair come in on the first hunt on Saturday and both birds were banded. The next day we hunted a different area and Our buddy Jeremy shot a bird that went wide right and it turned out to be banded, interestingly enough it was banded on his birthday. The next group of birds that came in we shot into a 5 of the birds were banded to include a neck collar. We were all freaking out! One bird had sailed and we could not find it before it got dark and thought it to be a loss. Well, overnight we all decided that we would go back in the AM and look for it because there was a high possibility that it was banded. We took all the dogs including my toy Aussie and went back out. We found the spot that the coyotes had ate the bird it was about 800 yards from where we had hunted. We could not find the feet and so we started a grid search. Well, Our buddy Jordan found it sitting on top of a tumbleweed! It was incredible! So, that brought our total to 9 for the 2 days! The picture below shows the 7 from the one hunt. The other two from the day before came from Medical Lake.
