Who's Having 2nd Thoughts On Montana
« on: February 12, 2009, 07:01:01 PM »
Originally I was going to take a year off from putting in for MT, but as the entry deadline approaches I'm starting to imagine what it would be like this fall not going to MT for 10 days. :'(

My reason for staying home was mainly due to the economy but I still have my job so far. :) I was thinking about putting in for deer only which is cheaper but the odds of drawing are much tougher. I seriously think that the Big Game Combo will be a gimmie draw this year. They may even have a few left over given the current conditions.

Anyone else still sitting on the fence?

My parents will pay for it. (They said so anyway). If not I will find a way to do it myself. and if my dad won't go with me I will go by myself. If I get drawn.

Fortunately and unfortunately this should be a good year for all nonres tags and draws, given the economy.

i am not putting in, but that was the original plan, thanks to an unexpected 3 week vacation from my former job i had to change plans. if there are leftover tags available come that time and i feel like it's do-able, then maybe i'll buy in.

I am still going but two of my hunting partners have dropped out. I think the big game combo will almost be a sure thing this year. Hopefully it is because I don't have any preference points. Hogsniper makes me envious with his 5 weeks but I wouldn't miss my two weeks for anything.

I am putting in come hell or highwater. I missed out the last two years putting in and I'll be darned if I don't put in this year. I think this will be my year for a Montana big bull. I might even put in for a Wyoming tag as well.

Hell no.  I can't wait to actually have a quality hunt.  This will be my first time hunting out of state (unless you count hunting on Camp Pendleton) and I can't wait.  I'll show you the pics of my 400 class bull elk I take over there.   :chuckle:

Ahhhh... the beauty of student loans and a summer job to pay for apps!  I can eat Ramen as long as I need to in order to tag a big muley!  Hell even if I don't draw I'll go along... it'll be nice to have some huntin to do while on thanksgiving break!!!

Unfortunately you already missed the deadline for Wyoming elk...
