Kifaru Packs which one?

So I've decided to finally pull the trigger and spend money on a Kifaru pack but now I'm unsure which one I should get. I would like something I can day hunt with but that I can also do a 5-6 day backcountry hunting in. I saw the nomad was on sale for $200 but it seems like if you want to get the full 7k cu.in capacity you would have to add another bag to it for another $100 or so and for $300 I might as well get that EMR II for that. Just curious what is the smarter set up or if there is another pack by them that would be better.

I have the hunting frame topped with the mountain warrior bag, lid and a few pockets. It is plenty big for a few days but doesn't overwhelm me when condensed down for a day pack.

I have a white mountain pack (4,600 cub.in)by L.L.Bean. I like the heavy padding on the waist belt, top lid that can be removed to used as a waist pack, the pocket system on the front is nice to keep items organized and that pockets on the waist belt can fit my rangefinder. I dislike the frame which is ok but as soon as 30-40lbs is in the bag you really can feel it. The side compression straps are the only thing to hold my tripod when packed and it doesn't do that very well. Also I should say that I worked for them and was given the pack for free which is great but the pack was a proto so many aspects aren't 100% correct(some straps are a bit short while others are crazy long and the top lid doesn't fit well). I run a tripod stand but no spotter but would love to get one in a year or two. My tent is the size of a nalgene just over 2lbs my sleeping pad is the same length but half as thick and my clothes are pretty good for the most part(some down pieces, light weight mid layers, bulkiest is my jacket sitka jetstream). hope that answers your questions

Using a Kifru AMR with a guide lid, and grab it. As a daypack I have it fully compressed so all it has in the main bag is my kill kit, first aid kit, survival gear and a spare headlamp. My "day hunting gear" fit in the other two pockets, rain gear and puffy in bottom pocket, other stuff in the top pocket. I then put my lunch and stuff I access frequently in the lid. I can use the grab it and lid in tandem to hold my spotting scope while still attached to my tripod.

On the belt I have a nalgene holder, small and medium belt pouch.

I'm running a 26" tact frame, woodsman with roll top pod under that holds my camp/sleep system. Once I get to camp, pop off the roll top pod to set up camp without having to dig through my bag. Pull my food, that stays at the top of the woodsman, out that I don't need for the day and run the woodsman as my day pack. Can get 5 nights out of this and am loving it.

It might be worth looking at an Exo 3500 on a kifaru frame if you are set on a kifaru frame.

I like my duplex hunter frame and the reckoning combo so far.  Just got it this summer.  I only have about 40 miles backpacking and scouting on it so far. But it handles the heavy loads very well and is built to last. I love all the side and front compression straps and the center zip on the reckoning bag.  I also really like how my tripod and spotter fit in the side pockets. Easy in and out.

The more I use it the more I like running without a lid. So far only done trips lasting 2 or 3 days.  Seems to have plenty of volume. I'm a happy customer so far with this combo.

I've used the original Nomad, and didn't care for it. The Mountain Warrior wasn't for me either. I've been using the AMR for a couple of years now, and I like it a lot. I ordered a Fulcrum and it should be here in a few days. I'm more excited about the Fulcrum than any of the other bags I've tried.

IMO, the bag for you will depend on your preference for how gear is stored. Kifaru has options on top of options because you can add most any bag to the frame and then add pockets to bags to make it work just how you want. I have an EMRII and would buy the Fulcrum, if buying now.  But I like vertical zippers. I day hunt, few day bivy hunt, and 9-day base and bivy camp hunt with it.

I have the original Nomad with a camp bag/grab it, guide lid. If I were doing it now I would probably get the Fulcrum. The nomad is a little strappy, hard to get in when compressed down. The new model addresses that. You can get Nomad bags pretty cheap used right now

After talking to Kifaru they recommended the Mountain Warrior and the Reckoning for me. I like the options of the Reckoning more then the Mountain Warrior. That said I do like the extra pockets the Fulcrum has on the back of the wings.

The reckoning looks like a great pack. If it was out before I got my AMR I would have gone that route. Either way, your going to love your new pack.

DT1 or Fulcrum with Guide Lid and Grab-It on a military duplex frame.  Throw in a Gun-Bearer and couple medium pockets for good measure.

 I am currently running the reckoning since it came out I have had five or six different bags and still have a couple for specific use but the reckoning is by far the most useful bag that I have put on my kifaru frame next to the 5500 EXO bag

I always love hearing that what I have coming is a kick ass product. It seems like these guys know their stuff and love what they do. Honestly I never heard of them till I saw Aron on instagram, then the gritty bowmen podcast and finally reading reviews of how great they are from so many seasoned hunters. Plus I'm a sucker for made in the USA product.

Kifaru light hunter, kifaru cargo net, 60 liter dry bag and a couple molle pouches hanging on the net. Pretty efficient to haul camp for 4 or 5 days, then drop the dry bag and run plenty of pouches to day hunt.
