OnXmaps update?
« on: July 14, 2017, 09:23:19 PM »
I got an email on Tuesday. Anyone else get an email? Anyone update their WA chip before?

I have updated a few of them. I just mail them in most of the time and they take care of them and do the update since computers hate me :chuckle:

If you guys don't mind me asking, what benefits do you get from having a GPS with a chip vs. a smartphone with the onX app?

Not happy with them and much to be desired with their phone app!

Phone may die in the field....GPS takes AA batteries.

I updated mine, but I do have to say some of the property that Weyco lists as part of there permit area shows up as under other timber companies ownership.  Weyco could be leasing the property which would account for the discrepancy.  I am going to make some calls on this but they do take there input from the state, so if Washington screws up then you could get screwed.  Pay attention even with the chips.

Like what?  I've been pretty happy with their phone app.
I know I've lost it, let me know if you come across it
