Dad is looking for a new boat
« on: August 12, 2017, 06:19:16 AM »
Dad is looking for a new boat.
He has a 21' hewescraft , love it. But could use a little bigger boat, more  occupancy , and mom could use a smoother ride. Has had a few  hernia  surgery
Hewes, NWjet, or Thunderjet. Any inputs?

Where will it be used?  East side Rivers or the sound?

Might consider putting Duckworth on the list as well.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

The only way your gonna get a smother ride in choppy water is with more weight like a glass boat.  Aluminum sit high on the water and kind of bounces of waves instead of cutting thru them.

:yeah:  Both answers aren't the greatest for a river boat.  You can get a great boat in either aluminum or glass, just be prepared for sticker shock and the need for an expensive tow vehicle.

He is in process of buying a 22' ocean pro hewes. It's got a few add-ons.
He and I have 7.3, so we should be fine towing the weight
