A lot of hunters, very few deer.   Not even being sarcastic.  If you have the time, enjoy the country.   Advice, make sure you aren’t shooting something on private.  Big big bucks on private.  Every year people poach them, every year they get Nailed!   The deer know how to read better than the hunters do.

I hunted all of the archery season, both weekends of the muzzy deer season and last Saturday was the first legal bucks that I saw.  One by himself on private and one with a few does on private.  I have land in 328 and I haven't had a legal buck on my place since June.

Being totally serious here this is the worst year I have seen in the 20 years that I have owned the property.

Plan on just taking a walk in the woods this year but that is still better than a day at the office.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Thank you everyone for taking the time, responding to my question.  I think I will travel up a week early before Elk season and enjoy the camping.
Thanks again

I've been hunting 328 on and off for about 20 years. There's some monsters on state land but they are steep and deep.

There are much better options out there than this unit

Get out there and give it a whirl! I took a buddy during archery season and took him to where I knew a legal buck was hanging out. We bumped into the buck within 45 minutes. He shot right over his back. Biggest advice I could give for 328 is to get creative where you hunt. With all the roads that wind through 328 it can be hard to get away from people. Find the pockets others overlook and you should find deer.
