CO 3rd Season hunt
« on: November 17, 2017, 04:37:28 PM »
I figured I would share some pictures of this years Colorado hunt.  My dad, a friend, and myself all had tags for the same zone and season.  Dad was able to pick up a leftover elk tag and join a buddy and I who had deer tags.  My main focus was to get a deer down as the freezer was getting low, then concentrate completely on getting Dad his first elk.  Day one was spent packing out my friends buck, day two was a little uneventful, day three I notched my tag on a small buck, then we focused on elk...

Overall we saw over 100 elk, and 5 legal bulls.  Dad was able to get one of the better bulls that we had located.  He was ecstatic and I was equally excited to be a part of it.  He has been talking about getting an elk for 10 plus years and it finally worked out.  Previously we had hunted elk one other time in the NE corner of Washington, and most here know that’s not exactly an easy hunt.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the week.  Hope you all enjoy looking.

Thanks guys.  It was a fun trip, just a little shorter than our normal hunts.
Nice animals. Where were you in Colorado?

North central region.

I live in Colorado now, so we didn’t have to tow the trailer too far.  ;)

Looks like a fantastic trip and a well thought out and set up camp. Makes me wish big game hunts weren't all but over for me this fall. Thanks for sharing!

Good stuff.  Thanks for sharing!
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
