I wonder how many wolves get illegally shot each year that aren't found......

Hopefully lots

If you think any good will come out of this for hunters, you're crazy.  For starters, if it was a collared wolf, any data that might have been gained is lost. They won't be able to track the pack if none of the other wolves are collared.  Second, this act will paint all hunters in a bad light and people who would otherwise support hunters will turn against us. At this point, we need all the friends we can get. Third, it will delay any delisting possibility. Fourth, it may result in more restrictions on hunters.

I couldn't care less that they lost their data, it's worthless and spun in a biased fashion as far as I'm concerned.

"Second"....Like a typical liberal you instantly put this on "hunters".....post up your evidence that a hunter did this.

"Third", anyone concerned about the deer, elk and moose in this state should be hoping we never reach the numbers point that we are talking about, litigating, delisting.

I thought it sickening that Mitch compared this wolf poacher with the Sandy hook shooter, or the Los Vegas shooter

It's an unjust irony that the term 'lone wolf' is applied to mass shooters ~ Mitch Friedman

Why even interject that into the conversation?  Show's us a glimpse of where Mitch places these wolves in comparison to human lives taken in heinous mass killings.

Like a typical right wingnut, you twist facts to suit your purpose. First, I'm far from a liberal. But that is irrelevant.

Let's just focus on where I said a hunter did it? No such thing. I said hunters will be blamed for it. Big difference.

As for claiming any data is worthless....... Those collars are used to track wolves and were used to take out problem packs. Is that worthless too?

Pictures or it didn't happen....

Or the true story...wolf found dead when collared moose showed inactive. Wolf found dead next to partially eaten moose carcass. Cause of death, appears wolf choked on moose collar.

No pics FAKE NEWS, they’ll do anything to push thier agenda on the state.

Heck for all we know they could have been killed in Idaho, and brought here. Look at what’s going on in our political arena these days with all the fake accusations.

Yah, a wolf that was collared here was shot in Idaho and dumped back here to create chaos with wolf recovery in Washington..............   Do you know how ignorant that sounds?

Did you see pics of any wolf that was shot, no, so who knows if a wolf had collar or not.

I don’t put anything past the corruption by the dept, or anyone else in involved with the wolf recovery.

They proven time and again they can’t be trusted.

Poaching, no matter what the species, is something we (hunters) should oppose 100%.  If we can't agree on that, don't whine when the next moose or bighorn gets poached.

Nice backtrack, "hunters" should never have even been brought into the conversation, except it furthers your never ending defense of WDFW and their predator protection.......and is no accident.

Data from those collars has little to do with those wolves killing cattle, which is what has led to them being taken out. About the only good the collars do is help locate them for removal. :twocents:

Why do guys on here always think it's a " hunter " and it's going to give said hunters a black eye ? There are others who own guns and do thrill killings to MAKE the hunters look bad. Just sayin'......... They are not hunters in my eyes.

I didn't assume it was hunters. I said it will make hunters look bad. Because the public will assume it was hunters.  And "hunters" are on this site saying,  "Kill more!"  "SSS" or some such drivel. That makes hunters look guilty too. Even if hunters didn't make the kill, those kinds of statements say hunters approve of this kind of poaching.

And when the public perceives hunters of approving or participating in breaking the law, we lose what little influence we have and lose non hunters who don't mind us hunting.

If you don't understand that, we are already lost.

I didn't say it was you. It's just like trail cameras. Guys on here always assume their fellow hunters on HERE are stealing their cameras. I'd say that most people in Washington could give a rats butt about wolves and are very uneducated about them, if they know anything about wolves. out I'd say, get their info from CNW and the WDFW, which isn't truthful one bit. That's my take on it.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

There is zero opinion in what you'll read below. Just straight numbers. Success rates as a whole have not gone down, but numbers of hunters have.

Before 2006 there weren't any wolves in this state.

Total deer harvest of all weapon types, number of hunters, success rate

GMU 124  Mount Spokane

IF the numbers are stating there has been no impact on the game herds due to wolf predation, then someone has been cooking the books.

Maybe it's just an oversight on your part but I do find it ironic you didn't add 113 in there as well which could be argued as one of the most impacted units of any in Washington. But here I'll do it for you.
