wow, what a waste of money.  How about communicating with Wyoming, Montana or Idaho about wolves and saving that money?

Sad part is that this doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I would expect nothing less.

That right there is what's got me wanting to spend less money on hunting in Washington and more money in other states. Next year I'll take the money I would've spent here and I'll spend it in Wyoming instead.

Nope,  she has seen the stupid sign on WDFW's forehead.

I went to one of her meetings, what a joke.

This surprised me...

Madden has won support from state Rep. Joel Kretz, R-Wauconda. Kretz, whose district includes most of the state’s wolves, said that before Madden the Wolf Advisory Group’s policies were strongly tilted toward urban viewpoints.

“And we got out of it a really bad wolf plan,” he said. “The only progress I’ve seen with the (advisory group) has been since she’s been on it.

It is infuriating to see WDFW waste sportsmen's dollars on this issue.  Let the greenies and the cattlemen pay this bill if they want to...Hunters will probably never get a chance to harvest wolves in this state, they are not a game animal, and there are far better uses of that money.  I bet we could open a lot of private land to public hunting for $425k.

I will not buy a hunting license here in Washington State, it's to expensive, the deer numbers are really low. I can buy a small game/big game license in New York and Pennsylvania for v$100 each and buy doe tags for $10 a piece.
There are so many deer there it makes this state a joke as far as deer numbers and game department management.

I agree what a wast of money. But as far as saying Id never hunt in wa st is a bit much. Here you can shoot a mule deer, whitetail , blacktail or even an high bred deer, Rocky or Roosevelt elk. I guess its just a harder state to hunt for some people. But if your welling to get out of your truck and off the beaten path there is plenty of animals to hunt here. Do your homework and you can be successful year after year. Sorry for high jacking this thread. I do think our game department sucks, but will still hunt my home st. I can get my deer, elk, and bear  within 30 miles of my hse. So as far as costing to much, out of st tags and fuel are going to cost a lot more than the $200 bucks that I spend on my tags and lic . I still put in other states but only in the trophy areas so if I do get drawn I will be going after 350 plus bulls only. Just a different way at looking at things I guess.

That surprised me too. So basically it says the WDFW leadership was so inept and tilted from the get go that this is "needed"?

We could change the thread title to 1.6 mill. Wow, a lot could be accomplished with that  :bash:

By mid-2019, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will have paid a consultant up to $1.6 million over four years to help it reconcile conflicting views on wolves, according to the consultant’s contract.

We should add up all of the real losses (depredation, weight loss and reproductive failure) add see if it reaches $1.6 million.  I can row in Kretz's boat, they have killed some wolves, but the boat is just to expensive.

I don’t know the laws but is there something in there that we could sue wdfg for gross negligence over spending money on non game animals? And this is just a waste. Having to hire someone to fix what they knew was a one sided affair to begin with. How are these people involved still employed?!?

Let the mule deer lay to rest, for the love of the wolf. From the quick research I have done on the interwebs she has not resolved any wildlife conflicts with people ,these conflicts are job security for her. She is more of a mediator, that has her own ideas in mind of what conservation should be.She is a part of a non profit org. Here's a link to listen on how she changes off topic of the wolf conflict when she talks about the conflict with wolves.

Better open up your wallets and settle in for the 20 year wolf conflict cause this lady plans on retirement with this one.

The fb pic I posted was before she became a conflict manager for wdfw I guess ,even though I don't think it matters .

Thank you for the audio, Ms. Madden should be paid by the UN.  She compared a few uncontrolled coddled predators to the conflict in the middle east.  YIKES.  The hook has been set deep and the WDFW will not get off easy.

This is a wdfw issue.  They want the Wolves to do there job.
It’s not about the politics.  Most people don’t care, and a lot don’t even know wolves are here!
The director continues to try to shut down fishing in every way.  He’s in way over his head and has been from the beginning.

This really makes me mad, the way they are totally throwing away all this money. Like I said before, this is something that makes me want to drastically cut back on what I spend on hunting licenses in Washington state. Why should I support this obvious waste of money?

There's already too much money being wasted on wolves but then to spend another 1-1/2 million or so on one person to help with their meetings is ridiculous. There must be a WDFW employee with the skills and ability to do the same exact thing! This is unbelievably stupid!   :bash:

Yes, I was already considering only buying a small game license next year. The thought of this digusting waste of money makes the decision even easier. My daughter will soon be 12 and she's ready to hunt for the first time, so I'll probably be buying her at least a deer license. I can stay plenty busy just hunting waterfowl and coyotes myself, and taking my daughter deer hunting, and I'll only be giving the WDFW a fraction of what I normally would have. The rest of my money will be spent in Wyoming.

She looks like a lady i saw last week living in a urine soaked cardboard box in Seattle under a bridge but was better dressed :chuckle:

09/22/17,  in her FB this fraud praise Conservation NW and Mitch Friedman and earlier Wayne Pacelle formerly of PETA

https://blog.humanesociety.org/wayne/2017/08/tamping-war-wolves.html?credit=mr_kf080717

anyone surprised PETA/HSUS and CNW are all being praised by this kook?

Would WDFW sign a contract with a vehement anti hunter?

On a side not my first encounter with PETA and Pacelle was in Sept 1992 in the opening of bow season in Montgomery County, MD. He and PETA were walking through the woods and harassing and threatening bow hunters and slashing the tires of hunting vehicles in the parking lot. Similar to the violent acts  by Mitch friedman of CNW.

just follow the money to see how much fraud and corruption these two organizations are ripping off the taxpayers and using that money in turn to end all sport hunting. They already succeeded in ending trapping and hound hunting.

Waiting for the usual apologists to come here and state what wonderful people they are and we just need to work with and trust them and that if they just want to end some forms of hunting it would be just fine.
