Pic of a few from yesterday. Found a few dozen today with plenty coming up. If you're near the salt and it's a sunny spot, they may be up. I'll second the false morel issue, I steer clear of them.  I like the real ones better.   :twocents:

Is there a foraging thread on this website? It would be cool if there was. Does anyone know of another foraging forum for Washington?

in central wa along any river with trees just found some day before yesterday so it is starting.   You can follow the harvest up elevation until mid May.  Concentrate in areas with filtered sunlight next to meadows or open areas.  Seems like they like these transitional areas.  Early on like this more on south sun exposure areas in a couple of weeks be on the the north side of the tree line.

They are big and beautiful this year. Went with my Grandson this year because he asked to go a while back.  It was a great hike!

Awesome. I'm in Richland today for my son's chess tournament.  I was thinking of checking out some wooded areas along the Columbia or Snake. Is this considered potential morel territory?

Those are actually Verpa.  Some people are sensitive to them.

Welcome to the sunny-side! I haven't heard of people finding morels around here, but you may be able to find wild asparagus.

Thanks jennabug, we didn't  find any mushrooms or asparagus but my 9 year old and I did some serious rock skipping on the Columbia.
