3 short months and I'm hitting the road.

Reference info.

Form 4455 is needed to declare firearms on US side to make rentry smooth.

To early to start packing? I think not.
I've never used a 4455 form but I have 4457 forms for all my firearms, spotting scopes, GPS and laptop. I would check and see what is best your local Customs office should be able to tell you.  :twocents:

Sounds like a GREAT hunt!  Relax, unplug and enjoy it while you are there, it will go too fast.

This is awesome! Good luck and enjoy it. Super easy to get in and out in Canada with firearms. Just fill the paper work out and have cash because if I remember it’s a $25 paperwork fee to get firearms in. I’ll be in Alberta late nov for deer and have to go through same process. Just have it all ready. The outfitter should give you info on the easiest way back in as well. Good luck

Yep....I called the sumas crossing and checked in.

I went through Sumas last year with 2 shotguns. Beforehand, had form 4457 filled out (not signed).   US customs gent walks out and verifies your serial numbers. I had a really nice guy.  Easy-peasy!

The clown on the Canadian side told me I couldn't bring them in because I wasn't hunting with a guide! I told him that's only for big game. He said "Oh...that could be"!.

US customs didn't even check coming back.  But he asked if I had tags for the ducks!  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:  Once again, I informed him that's big game only. Fun times...

Good luck!

Make sure you have Shane grab you a bird license. Those grouse up there are all over and you can bring 30 per person back with you.

30? How much is a outfitted grouse hunt?  :chuckle:
