A Texas Pig and Axis Doe
« on: March 29, 2018, 06:53:20 PM »
Had a chance to go shoot some pigs last week in Texas on place that my niece's Boyfriend has access to (Near Uvalde Texas).

I picked up two pigs and a Doe Axis deer.  (I am pretty sure I got a third pig but it went into thick cover and I was not able to track or recover it).  If I had a Turkey Tag I could have filled all three of them, there were Turkeys everywhere.

(No seasons, or limits on Pigs or Axis deer as both are considered invasive).

Great hunt!

Nice!
What is the info on your pig shooter?

I agree, the axis is fantastic eating.

The pig gun is a 458 socom.  I put a Leopold vx6 1-6 with a fire for on it.  At 1x it is like a red dot optic, but I can bring it up to 6x as needed.  Great for night shooting too (legal for pigs and Axis deer too for that matter).  At 1 x I can see the muzzle in full focus!
