You might be ready to roll by bear season! I saw a SS Vanguard in 30-06 that I almost picked up as a donor action. The more I look at the Howa/Vanguards the more I like them. All the one's I've handled felt every bit as good as the Remingtons I've looked at. |

But I’m not worried about it either. My 243 is shooting very well. |

I really liked the rifle and action. A friend has been shooting a Vanguard in .300 Weatherby for quite a few years and it’s been a great rifle. |

They have pretty good triggers too. I modified mine and have a crisp 2-2.3lb pull |

Imho howa's are built much better then current'ish Remingtons. You can still find them used for good prices too. The aftermarket is starting to come around for them, if stock selection was better I think you'd see a lot more builds on them. |
