Opening Day Lowland Lakes
« on: April 28, 2018, 07:24:14 PM »
Who all went and chased trout today? Fished the lake across the street (Bosworth) with a good buddy this afternoon, landed 52 of them and called it quits. Rigged my Grandpas old 17’ Larsen up for the lake this year. Ugly but it’s almost luxurious for trolling around with the minn kota. Nice little throw back to the beginning of the addiction for me.

Went out tonight and kid caught his limit. Lots of biters. Funniest part was we were using a steelhead fly with turned up eye. When I went to change fly I realized I forgot fly box. Good thing we didn’t lose our only one!

The lake looks empty for opening day.

It cleared out quite a bit after about 3:00. Most of the boats like to stay closer to the boat ramp, which is all good by me.  :chuckle:

We launched our boat at 5:30 and had our limits before 6:30! Biscuits and gravy for breakfast by 7:30 :chuckle:

Using no scent or bait, can catch and release all day long
